Independent by principle
We hold no manufacturer allegiance. Every product in the house is specified because it is right for the home and the people in it, not because it sits on a price list.
Discretion, always
Non-disclosure as standard. Your home is never a case study, a reference or a photograph without your written consent.
Approach
Start to finish, under one roof.
A dream home is usually delivered by a dozen companies who have never met: an architect, a main contractor, an interior designer, a lighting consultant, a technology integrator. Every join between them is a place for the vision to leak away.
MediaMax removes the joins. Our architects draw the house, our project directors build it with contractors we have approved, our designers finish it, and our engineers bring it to life, all under one contract and one conversation with you. We stay on as the one number to call for as long as you own the home. The result is a house that was designed as a whole, never assembled from parts.
And if you already have an architect, an interior designer or a contractor you trust, we work alongside them just as gladly. They join the same programme and the same standard, and the single point of accountability still sits with us.

I started MediaMax in 2012 because I kept watching beautiful houses let down at the end. The cinema squeezed into whatever room was left. The lighting an afterthought. The cabling arriving after the ceilings had closed. The only way to get it right was to take responsibility for the whole house.
So that is what we do. We draw it, we build it, we finish it and we bring it to life. And then we stay. My name is on the contract and my number is the one you call. If that sounds like the way you would want your home built, I would like to hear about it.

Behind every MediaMax home is a team that has done this before: our own architects, designers, project directors and engineers, and a circle of approved contractors we have vetted and worked alongside for years. Bring your own people if you prefer. We are used to working well with others.
Project directors
One director owns your project from brief to handover: the programme, the budget, the site, and a single weekly conversation with you.
Engineers
Our own technology engineers design, install and commission every system in the home, then stay on to look after it for years.
Approved contractors
Groundworks to joinery, delivered by contractors we have vetted and hold to our standard, or by the contractors you recommend, brought onto the same programme. Managed by us, answerable to us.

Lighting design
Layered architectural lighting, tunable white and scene control, drawn with the interior designer so the fittings disappear and the room appears.

Physical and digital security engineered together: perimeter, surveillance and access control on a segmented network that keeps the cameras, the cinema and the children's devices apart.

Our clients value privacy above publicity, so we describe our work without names, addresses or photographs of the homes themselves. Detailed references are shared privately, and only with the owner's agreement.
Private residence
A bar, wine room and media lounge
A lower-ground entertaining suite conceived as one room. A backlit onyx bar with bespoke brass-framed seating, a glazed and illuminated wine wall, and a media lounge with a large-format screen and floorstanding loudspeakers, all held within dark panelled joinery and layered architectural lighting that moves from evening to late night at a touch.
New build
A country house, Surrey
Designed and built by MediaMax from an empty site: architecture, construction and interiors, with whole-home control, layered lighting, distributed audio, a subterranean private cinema and a security system designed with the family's own advisers.
Listed retrofit
A Georgian townhouse, London
A full remodel where nothing new could be seen. Period rooms restored, invisible speakers, lighting that respects the original plasterwork, and a network threaded through Georgian fabric without a single surface-mounted cable.
Dedicated cinema
A converted barn, the Cotswolds
A cinema built from the slab up: full acoustic isolation, laser projection at the cinema's native 2.39:1 frame, reference calibration, and a rack room the size of a cupboard that runs the entire estate.

By invitation only.
There is no application for the MediaMax Club. Membership is extended to the few who commission a MediaMax home, and it means you have entered something very few people ever will: a private circle of exceptional homes and the people who own them, looked after by the team that built them.
- A number that is always answered. Your director, for as long as you own the home.
- First call on our team, our time and our attention, whatever the next project may be.
- The same discretion inside the Club as outside it. Members are never named, never listed and never introduced without consent.
Membership cannot be requested. It is offered.
Our standard
Perfection is not a finish. It is the standard we hold from the first cable to the last calibration.
We put it in writing
A defined scope, a programme you can hold us to, and every drawing, schedule, password and warranty handed over at the end. Nothing lives only in someone's head.
We say no
To the wrong product, the wrong timing and the wrong shortcut, even when yes would be easier. Our advice is worth more than our margin.
We finish
Snagging, commissioning and calibration are the project, not the afterthought. Nothing is handed over until the house performs exactly as drawn.
