Business Web Design - (About our web design process)
'What are your Web Design goals'
When designing a website it is essential never to lose track of what it is you wish to accomplish from your web design and make sure this is clearly spelt out for your potential customer with a clear 'Call to Action' for them.
What do we mean by this, well if we take as an example a person looking for toothpaste in a supermarket, instead of wandering around the supermarket aimlessly in the hope of finding what they want they will look for a sign saying 'Toiletries' and then search the area indicated for the product they are after. Need less to say if the supermarket left its toothpaste in the 'Sweets' section it would see a dramatic fall in its toothpaste sales. So it is esential to enable your potential customer to easily find and purchase the product they are interested in.
The same applies for websites and their web design, if a potential customer is looking to purchase a product or service they will usually type in a keyword or phrase in a search engine, which will in turn bring up a list of results, websites that supposedly offer the item they are interested in. They will then click on a link, which is usually the top 4 or 5 results and then expect to land on a page that gives them the information that they are looking for and a clear 'Call to Action' (How do I buy this product). If instead the potential customer lands on a page that talks about a number of other unrelated products, and or, there is no clear 'Call to action' for them they will soon click the back button and visit your competitors site. This is why it is essential to incorporate SEO web design into your web design process and make sure your website design is targeted for your audience..
Mediamax's aim in its SEO web design is to create clearly focused websites and pages that give a clear call to action for potential customer. To complement this we also include further pages that show case your company so that potential customers can reassure themselves about who you are, with again a clear call to action for them to purchase or make an enquiry. In short we create a tailor made business web design that will generate results for your business. At Mediamax a website designer is asigned to look after each customer to ensure quality website design.
Common Web Design Terms and Meanings

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) - Web Design
Commonly used in business web design CSS is a style sheet language used to describe the presentation semantics (the look and formatting) of a document written in a markup language. Its most common application is to style web pages written in HTML and XHTML, but the language can also be applied to any kind of XML document, including SVG and XUL.
CSS is designed primarily to enable the separation of document content (written in HTML or a similar markup language) from document presentation, including elements such as the layout, colors, and fonts.[citation needed] This separation can improve content accessibility, provide more flexibility and control in the specification of presentation characteristics, enable multiple pages to share formatting, and reduce complexity and repetition in the structural content (such as by allowing for tableless web design). CSS can also allow the same markup page to be presented in different styles for different rendering methods, such as on-screen, in print, by voice (when read out by a speech-based browser or screen reader) and on Braille-based, tactile devices. While the author of a document typically links that document to a CSS style sheet, readers can use a different style sheet, perhaps one on their own computer, to override the one the author has specified.
CSS web design specifies a priority scheme to determine which style rules apply if more than one rule matches against a particular element. In this so-called cascade, priorities or weights are calculated and assigned to rules, so that the results are predictable.
Flash Video (FLV) - Web Design
Flash Video is a container file format and is used in business web design to deliver video over the Internet using Adobe Flash Player versions 6–10. Flash Video content may also be embedded within SWF files. A web designer will incorporate Flash to create a dynamic web design. There are two different video file formats known as Flash Video: FLV and F4V. The audio and video data within FLV files are encoded in the same way as they are within SWF files. The latter F4V file format is based on the ISO base media file format and is supported starting with Flash Player 9 update 3.[1][2] Both formats are supported in Adobe Flash Player and currently developed by Adobe Systems. FLV was originally developed by Macromedia.
HyperText Markup Language (HTML) - Web Design
HTML is the predominant markup language for web pages and business web design. It is written in the form of HTML elements consisting of "tags" surrounded by angle brackets within the web page content.
It allows images and objects to be embedded and can be used to create interactive forms. It provides a means to create structured documents in web design by denoting structural semantics for text such as headings, paragraphs, lists, links, quotes and other items. It can embed scripts in languages such as JavaScript which affect the behavior of HTML webpages.
HTML can also be used to include Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to define the appearance and layout of text and other material. The W3C, maintainer of both HTML and CSS standards, encourages the use of CSS over explicit presentational markup
